Ja’Quan R. Phillips

JaQuan R Phillips is the Founder and Executive Director for the Jasmine Sickle Cell Foundation. JaQuan founded the foundation in 2016 after the passing of his older sister, Jasmine R. Phillips, due to suffering from Sickle Cell. JaQuan did his duty to become a mentor to the youth in his community and the students on his campus. After graduating from the illustrious Saint Augustine's University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, he made it his mission to grow the JSCW Foundation. The overall purpose of JSCW is to promote Sickle Cell awareness and host outreach in any and every avenue that may affect Sickle Cell research.

Billie J. Savage

Billie J. Savage joined our team in September 2018 as our Lead Assistant Volunteer. Billie is now the JSCW Foundation Director of Marketing & Social Media Managment. She is a proud Greenville, NC native. Billie recently received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the illustrious Saint Augustine’s University. Before and definitely after being initiated in Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, INC in Spring 2018, Billie has made it her mission to give back to her community. Through the missions of the foundation, one specifically provides her creative spirit and lively attitude in every outreach plan we created.

Nakia Y. Brown

Nakia Y. Brown joined our team in January 2020 as our Director of Operations Assistant. Nakia is now JSCW Foundation Director of Volunteer Services. She is a proud Goldsboro, NC native. Nakia is a current student at the illustrious Saint Augustine's University, where she plans to receive her Bachelor of Art in Psychology. During her time on campus, she has been able to gain an extensive list of experiences that allowed her to work with at-risk youth and youth that battles autoimmune illnesses. After graduation, Nakia plans to open her clinic to provide health-related advice to children who suffer from mental illnesses.

Toyin J. Howell

Toyin J. Howell joined our team in January 2020 as our Head Volunteer. Toyin is Now JSCW Foundation Director of Operations. She is a proud Goldsboro, NC native who spends most of her time volunteering in youth programs. Toyin recently graduated from the illustrious Saint Augustine's University, where she received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology. During her undergrad years, she has been active and worked in various organizations like the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA.
